You are welcome to join Bob “the science guy” Brader for an adventure of a lifetime. I have listed the website for the Muddy Run Observatory above. See section on April 8 for the solar eclipse gala at the site. I would like to lead a drive to the observatory, covering the historic west end section of Lancaster city, including views of Armstrong Cork Company, a glimpse of F&M college, Hamilton Watch company, Historic mansions, a glimpse of the second worst president’s house, Slaymaker lock company, and Hammonds pretzel factory. We will then do some zoom zooming following the Conestoga river, the Pequea creek, and the Susquehanna river. A potty break will be at the Pinnacle Overlook, where we will baptize the newly constructed pit toilets. Our final destination will be the Muddy Run Observatory for the viewing of an almost total solar eclipse.  In the event of cloud cover they will be having a simulcast from a clear location.  There will also be food trucks for gourmet dining. Please respond to microbrader@gmail.com by April 4 if you are planning on attending.
Date and Time: Monday, April 8, 11AM
Location:    Sheetz gas station 1180 Manheim Pike, Lancaster, PA, but we will assemble in the UPMC lot adjacent to the Sheetz
Special Note: Viewing a solar eclipse, without eclipse glasses can destroy your retina. I have 4 pairs and they will have some, but look online to see where you can get either free or very cheap approved eyeware. Also, they will be having food trucks, but you can bring your own food, since we are not stopping for lunch.
